Police inspector Mirna Paligoric, plagued by her own unrest, solves a five-year-old crime case and accidentally uncovers a nexus between the government, secret services, and organized crime. The lives of police officers, criminals, and seemingly random participants are intertwined in a “system of communicating vessels” that leads to unexpected and sobering situations, leaving them all restless.

In the dark of night, the remains of a young man were found at a construction site in Belgrade. Police inspector Mirna Paligoric takes on the case and enters a dangerous cat-and-mouse game as she tries to solve the murder. The main suspect, Vukasin Banovic, disappeared after the discovery of the skeleton, while the succeeding murder of her fellow policeman Nebojsa Ubiparic sheds a completely new light on the case.

Mirna discovers that more powerful people are involved in the story than it initially appeared. Investigating falsified autopsies and corruption in the police, Mirna faces a serious threat to her own life, while at the same time trying to solve her personal problems.

As she investigates, Vukasin’s brother, Momcilo, tries to uncover the truth to save his brother and family from the criminals lurking in the shadows. Mirna and Momcilo will have to confront the mafia, the secret police, and the police chief, as well as each other.

The exciting atmosphere and tense plot that follow the search for Vukasin and police investigation will show what it is like to seek justice from the most dangerous people in the city.
